The Bucket Style and Formatting Guide
Welcome to The Bucket, here are a few pointers on our style and how we format our articles that will help you help us publish you.
Print: The entire journal is formatted in two-column pages, with each column holding 1500 characters (including spaces), as such your article should either 1500 or 3000 characters in length, depending on the size you have agreed upon with your section editor.
Online: There is less restriction on length online, consult one of the editors for advice.
Spelling: Where there is an English and American alternative for the spelling of a word, we use the English, with no exceptions.
Italics: All album names, names of movies, books, publications, TV shows, adult films etc must be italicised.
Numbers: We spell numbers up to the number ninety-nine; you may use digits for numbers in excess of 100, with the exception being those including a decimal point, for which we always use digits (as in 99.45).
Anonymity: We fully understand that some contributors might not want to put their name to certain articles for a variety of reasons, however we do insist that the Journal be made aware of your identity, to reduce the possibility of fraudulent submissions.
Submission: All pieces are to be emailed to email@example.com in a word document, along with any images you want to be included.
We look forward to reading your submissions soon.
